Our biggest surprise: A VJing workshop by Carrie Gates.

Carrie Gates is a designer of websites, live video mixing performances, and interactive art experiences. For Digitized 2012, she is happy to be presenting a short introductory workshop to VJing (live video mixing) techniques and a brief demonstration of her custom brainwave controlled video mixing software.

Since the mid-1990s, Carrie has been performing as a VJ, DJ, and sound artist both locally and abroad, traveling regularly to present her live audiovisual performances and workshops. She also works as a Designer at the University of Saskatchewan and has published academic research on human-computer interaction.  Her intimate involvement in the independent electronic music and media art communities across Canada and beyond for over 15 years has given her a broad range of unique influences and experiences to draw from in her work.

You can find more about Carrie on her personal website: www.vjcarriegates.com

All students registered for the Digital Media workshop will attend this workshop!

Stop talking awesome. Start building awesome.

Jordan and Andrée are young technology entrepreneurs who are great at building awesome products. They are excited to share their experiences with you during Digitized and we couldn’t be happier.

More on Jordan and Andrée:

Jordan is a web developer that loves making ideas come to life. In 2009 he created TaxiMe (www.taxime.ca) which is a website and iPhone app that estimates your cab fare.  In 2011 he launched 7shifts (www.7shifts.com) with co-founder, Andrée Carpentier and is loving being his own boss.

Andrée graduated from the University of Ottawa with an International Business degree before moving back to the one and only province that’s hard to spell, but easy to draw - Saskatchewan.

As 7shifts’ co-founder, Andrée has been the driving force behind building 7shifts client base and brand. Not only does she love making sure the clients are happy, she has a knack for figuring out how 7shifts can continue to be an intuitive and time-saving tool.
